About this piece
Jefferson Township, Preble County, Ohio, an original township map from Atlas of Preble County Ohio by C.O. Titus, published in 1871. The sheet is printed in black with the land tinted in pink, within a ruled border.
The title "Jefferson" is lettered at the top, with the scale of the map and the township's range and township numbers beneath it. The township is divided into numbered sections and shows each farm with the owner's name and acreage, along with roads, streams and schools. New Paris lies at the left, outlined in red beside the railroad lines that run diagonally up the sheet, and Brinley Station is marked at the upper right. Orangeburg, Belfast and Gettysburg are strung along the lower part. Darke County lies along the top edge and the State of Indiana beyond the left edge.
The map records land ownership in the northwestern corner of Preble County in 1871.
