About this piece
Dixon Township, Preble County, Ohio, an original township map from Atlas of Preble County Ohio by C.O. Titus, published in 1871. The sheet is printed in black with the land tinted in green, within a ruled border.
The title "Dixon" is lettered at the top, with the scale of the map and the township's range and township numbers (R. I, T. VII) beneath it. The township is divided into numbered sections and shows each farm with the owner's name and acreage, along with roads, streams, schools and churches. West Florence is marked at the head of the sheet, and Sugar Valley appears on the right-hand side. The border lettering names the neighboring townships of Jackson and Israel, Washington and Gaspar, and the State of Indiana lies beyond the left-hand edge.
The sheet records land ownership on the Indiana line of Preble County in 1871.
