About this piece
Israel Township, Preble County, Ohio, an original township map from Atlas of Preble County Ohio by C.O. Titus, published in 1871. The sheet is printed in black with the land tinted in yellow, within a ruled border.
The title "Israel" is lettered at the top, with the scale of the map and the township's range and township numbers (Twp. No. 6, Range No. 1) beneath it. The township is divided into numbered sections and shows each farm with the owner's name and acreage, along with roads, streams, schools and churches. The villages of Fair Haven, Claysburg and Morning Sun are marked, and College Corner is shown in the lower left corner at the Butler County and Indiana line. Railroads cross the township diagonally, and Little Creek winds through the lower part.
The sheet records land ownership in the southwestern corner of Preble County in 1871.
