About this piece
Washington Township, Preble County, Ohio, an original township map from Atlas of Preble County Ohio by C.O. Titus, published in 1871. The sheet is printed in black with the land tinted in pale yellow, within a ruled border.
The title "Washington" is lettered across the top, with the scale of the map beside it and the township's range number (R. II) beneath. The township is divided into numbered sections and shows each farm with the owner's name and acreage, along with roads, streams and schools. Eaton, the county seat, lies at the lower center, with its street grid outlined in red, and several railroad lines cross the township diagonally and converge on the town. Monroe Township lies along the top edge.
The sheet records land ownership around the Preble County seat in 1871, and the page number is printed in the upper corner.
